Anthony Hawley
Reader's Block
With mirrors, string, text, wax, wood, drawings, and various other odds and ends Reader's Block transforms ProjectRoom into a brewpot of signs, marks and reflectors that put into form what happens when words, images and objects fail to explain themselves.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Anthony Hawley currently lives and works in Lincoln, NE. Hawley received his B.A. and M.F.A from Columbia University where he studied Italian literature, Japanese literature and film, and then poetry and fiction writing. He is the author of two full-length collections of poetry, Forget Reading and The Concerto Form, and has shown his visual art in Omaha and New York. He currently lectures on poetry and avant-garde literature at UNL and lives with his wife Rebecca Fischer (first violinist of The Chiara Quartet) and his two daughters Oriana and Ilaria.
